MARTIN'S MONDAY UPDATE



Good evening

Just in case any of our supporters were coming down the training ground tomorrow at watch training and half past 10, the time starting has changed.

We decided to get everybody in tomorrow morning at 7.30am for a 7.45 start. This gives us all a reality check - what it's like for the people who work long hours, who do this sort of thing everyday. At the end of the morning, hopefully they will appreciate how great it is to be a footballer doing something you love and hopefully they will all see that you have to make the very best of your ability whilst you're doing it. I will also remind them, at the end of training, how short the career is and when you are in it, you have to make the very best of the good opportunities that come your way.

Behind the scenes, all the staff have been working all hours on various bits and pieces. I've got a few tricky decisions to make although, having said that, they're not really tricky decisions - they are good decisions to have to make. At the moment, I cannot really go into further detail.

A few weeks ago, Whit and I went over to Milton Keynes Hospital to see one of our season ticket-holders from the South Stand, Geoff Pettifer. Geoff was a true supporter, had booked his seat at the new stadium and was going to be on the bench with me for this Walsall game. We tried our best to give him a target and a goal to help him through. Sadly, even though Geoff took his game into extra time, he was finally defeated yesterday. Having met him, I'm sure he gave everything and tried his best, and next Sunday the South Stand will be missing one very valuable player. I hope everybody involved with this football club takes a moment to think of Geoff and his family, and to realise how blinking lucky we all are.

I do hope, and it seemed that you did, that you enjoyed last Saturday afternoon. It would be nice this Sunday, and it was one of my targets at the beginning of the season, to get The Ground sold out for a league fixture. Forget the fact it's on television - grab a mate, grab anyone, or even grab a granny! The more the merrier!

Have a good week and get yourselves ready for the weekend.

RED NOSE DAY



MK Dons players Aaron Wilbraham and Sam Page visited call centres in Milton Keynes on Friday as the country generously donated to Comic Relief.

With both players unable to play in Saturday's game against Wrexham, Dons manager Martin Allen sent the injured pair to help the tireless workers at BT in Central MK and Accenture at Kents Hill.



Pagey and Alby signed autographs and took photographs (for a donation to Comic Relief of course) and even took a few phone calls from the British public calling in to donate cash.

It was a terrific effort from the call centre workers, who put in incredibly long shifts to ensure everybody help such a worthwhile cause.

CHAIRMAN'S DEBATING CHAMBER



Milton Keynes Dons chairman Pete Winkelman is set to feature on Radio Five Live's Chairman's Debating Chamber on Wednesday night.

The show, presented by Mark Saggers, will also feature Heather Rabbatts of Millwall and Birmingham City's David Gold.

The three supremos will have the chance to chat on air about the issues facing the people who run football clubs such as foreign owners, football agents and terracing for supporters.

The show promises to be a light-hearted yet insightful listen, so tune in to BBC Radio Five Live (909 or 693 medium wave) on Wednesday night from 8 - 9.30pm.

Jarrett signs for MK Dons



ALBERT Jarrett has today re-signed for the Dons in time for this Sunday's televised Sky promotion clash with Walsall.

The pacey 22-year-old winger has joined on loan from Premiership side Watford until the end of season after his loan spell at Boston United expired.

It is Jarrett's second spell at the Dons after he left the National Hockey Stadium for Brighton on a free transfer in August 2004, shortly after Wimbledon's relocation to the city.

Jarrett impressed for Boston in the Dons' 3-2 win over the Pilgrims at the National Hockey Stadium earlier this month, and Allen said: "Albert can play left wing, right wing and up front - he gives us another attacking option."

MARTIN'S WEDNESDAY UPDATE



Good afternoon,

This morning we have managed to sign Albert Jarrett on loan from Watford until the end of the season. A couple of weeks ago, he played very well against us and he is a player I have been chasing all season and tried to sign last summer. Thankfully, Albert has finally come to his senses.

He will go into the squad for the weekend and he can play left wing, right wing or up front.

I'm currently working on a few other bits and pieces to help strengthen us for the run-in.

This afternoon, Nicky Rizzo has agreed to join Chesterfield on loan

As soon as I get things confirmed and tied up I will let you know.

Eight cup finals to go.

MARTIN'S THURSDAY UPDATE PART II



Good evening

To bring you all up to date on the "decisions" I had to make, it was a question of who to bring in and what positions needed to be strengthened or reinforced. Yesterday we signed Albert Jarrett who can play both wide positions and up front. Today we have signed Dominic Blizzard from Watford who is mainly a central midfield player but can also play right back and centre half. And right on deadline, we have signed Adam Watts, a 19-year-old centre half from Fulham.

Sam Page, Aaron Wilbraham (), Paul Mitchell and Jamie Smith are all injured and I don't know how long they're going to be, therefore something had to be done. I also have one other player who has picked up an injury which for now will have to remain private.

All the staff have been fantastic, working long hours, non-stop telephone calls, non-stop watching matches and non-stop on the go. All the phones, all the attention, all our focus and concentration must now go towards the eight cup finals.

Allen adds two more new faces



AFTER the signing of Albert Jarrett on loan from Watford on Wednesday, MK Dons manager Martin Allen has added two more new faces to his ranks this week.
Watford's Dominic Blizzard and Adam Watts from Fulham have both joined the Dons on loan, the deals completed just the loan window closed on Thursday night.

Blizzard is a central midfielder but he can also play right back and at centre half, while 19-year-old Watts is a centre-back.

They have been brought in as cover for the injured Sam Page, Aaron Wilbraham, Paul Mitchell and Jamie Smith, while Allen also revelaed that another unamed player is struggling with an injury.

Posh seats for all!



DONS fans are in for a comfortable ride off the field next season at least after the club announced all seats at the new stadium will be padded.

The club were originally selling the extra comfy founder seats for an extra £150 but have now sent a letter to fans saying the whole stadium will be kitted out in the posh seats for no extra charge. Just like at Premiership Arsenal's Emirates Stadium.

You still have the opportunity to have a plaque with a name of your choice on the seat, but that will now only cost £50.

Fans who have already paid the £150 for a padded seat and plaque need not worry also. No money has been taken out of accounts yet
and anyone who paid in cash can receive a refund from the club shop.

MK DONS V WALSALL

TEAM NEWS
Aaron Wilbraham and Jamie Smith are the Dons' major injury concerns ahead of Sunday's live Sky game against Walsall.

Both players are struggling with ankle injuries but manager Martin Allen has brought in reinforcements to cover. Watford midfielders Dominic Blizzard and Albert Jarrett along with Fulham defender Adam Watts all came in before Thursday's loan deadline, and all go straight into the squad. Paul Mitchell is the only long-term absentee.



Walsall manager Richard Money could hand a debut to striker Trevor Benjamin, who has joined on loan from Peterborough until the end of the season, and Tony Bedeau is also in contention after returning from a month on-loan at Bury.

Midfielder Darren Wrack made the bench against Wycombe last week following a dead leg and could be in contention to start while Kevin Harper, a midfielder on-loan from Stoke, should shake off a groin strain in time to play.

Defender Chris Westwood suffered no recurrence of a hamstring injury in the game against the Chairboys last week and is set to continue in defence. Defenders Allan Picken and Ian Roper are both out with knee injuries.

FORM
The Dons face their third home game in a row and, having won the other two, they will be looking for a very useful hat-trick on Sunday. Their home form of late has been outstanding with eight wins and just one defeat in 11 games at The Ground.



Last Saturday's 2-1 win over Wrexham lifted them back into the automatic promotion places and in-form Clive Platt's 85th-minute winner was his seventh in his last four games in Milton Keynes. He was a trainee with Walsall as a 17-year-old.

The Saddlers have had goalless draws in their last two away games and have only won once in their last six on the road. Having turned into 2007 in top-spot in the division, a run of just three wins in their last 11 games has seen the rest close the gap and Hartlepool overtake them.

A tricky run of fixtures since mid-February has seen them face, among others, promotion rivals Hartlepool, Lincoln, Darlington and Wycombe - they haven't won any of them.

Dons trail Walsall by two points and a win would put them second. Walsall could go back to the top of the table if they win and Hartlepool lose at local rivals Darlington.

LAST TIME OUT
The two sides played out a goalless stalemate at the Bescott Stadium in October. Martin Allen took his battle weary team to the West Midlands just days after the defeat to Tottenham Hotspur in the Carling Cup and his troops responded brilliantly.



Walsall were yet to concede a goal at home at that point in the season and they will have considered themselves lucky to have kept that record intact after both Sean O'Hanlon and Lloyd Dyer hit the woodwork.

WALSALL SOLD OUT



Tickets for Milton Keynes Dons' League Two fixture against Walsall on Sunday have now SOLD OUT.

The news will be a huge boost for the team and manager Martin Allen, who made it his prime objective when he arrived at the club last July to sell out The Ground for a league fixture.

The club are now advising supporters to arrive in plenty of time for the match, which kicks off at 4pm, as queues at the turnstiles will obviously be high.

Sunday is also the start of British Summer Time as the clocks go forward in the early hours, so whatever you do, don't turn up late!

Demand for tickets for one of the biggest games of the season has been incredible as the city of Milton Keynes rallies right behind its team.

The clash of the promotion heavyweights will be screened live on Sky Sports but that hasn't kept supporters away, indeed it has had the opposite effect.

The last few tickets were snapped up by fans before the Dons Box Office closed on Friday.



Supporters who have not already done so can still take part in the MK Dons Shirt Amnesty - where your ticket for the Walsall game can also earn you a free, brand new Dons shirt! Milton Keynes Dons and Walsall played out a draw in front of the Sky cameras to leave the League Two promotion race evenly-poised.

Izale McLeod's 20th-league goal of the season had put the Dons in the driving seat after half-time but Saddlers substitute Darren Wrack slammed home Dean Keates' free-kick with his very first touch to ensure the spoils were shared.

It's a result that leaves both sides in the automatic promotion places, with Swindon just behind and Hartlepool five points clear at the top.

Having come in on-loan until the end of the season on Thursday, Dominic Blizzard was handed his full Dons debut in the heart of the midfield alongside captain Keith Andrews.

Like their opponents, the Saddlers made just one change from the side that drew at Wycombe, Peterborough loanee Trevor Benjamin coming in up front for Hector Sam.

In front of a sell-out crowd, both sides struggled for early fluency and the first few minutes were scrappy as a result. Martin Butler made a big appeal for a penalty after going down under the challenge of Dean Lewington and Lewington himself went on a mazy dribble that just lacked a final ball. That aside, chances were few and far between.

On 15 minutes, the game burst into life when Gareth Edds took a quick throw from Lloyd Dyer and hammered in a trademark shot from 25 yards. Saddlers 'keeper Clayton Ince was completely deceived by the flight of the ball and volleyed it away awkwardly with his feet before bouncing up to save Clive Platt's follow-up.

Walsall were doing their best to settle but their main obstacle was Andrews, bossing the midfield like the biggest kid in the playground, available for every pass and winning every tackle. The Dons were having no such trouble, working the ball nicely in neat triangles and creating shooting space for both Izale McLeod and Jon-Paul McGovern - only the latter working Ince.



Chances came the way of both McLeod and Lloyd Dyer down the inside left channel before Walsall had the ball in the net on 36 minutes. Anthony Gerrard's booming header out of defence was seized upon by Benjamin and as the Walsall striker lobbed the ball over Lee Harper and into the net, an extraordinarily late flag denied him.

As expected, the battle between League Two's most potent attack and its tightest defence was an intriguing one, but it was the defenders who were the happier at the break.

Walsall came out flying after half-time and Butler was unlucky not to put them in front with a 49th-minute header from Kevin Harper's cross that smacked against the crossbar.

But it games this tight, it pays to have the League's most prolific striker and McLeod found the key to Walsall's door on 54 minutes. McGovern drove in an angled cross from the right and McLeod controlled the ball superbly with his chest inside the penalty area. The touch took Chris Westwood out of the game and McLeod held his nerve to slot confidently past Ince.

Walsall now had to come, and come they did as Benjamin rolled Drissa Diallo inside the penalty area but his left-foot shot was beaten away smartly by Harper.

Big, strong and quick, Benjamin was proving a handful but try as he might, he couldn't bring his team-mates into play. The Dons stood firm and continued to create, McGovern whipping in a wonderful ball that Platt could only head straight at Ince.

Walsall boss Richard Money needed something fresh and after introducing Darren Wrack for Kevin Cooper, the change paid off immediately. Dean Keates' inswinging free-kick found Wrack completely unmarked at the far post and the Saddlers substitute volleyed in from close range.

It visibly lifted the away side, their passes started to find success and their attacks started to look more threatening.



Allen introduced Leon Knight and Jude Stirling to give the Dons a different attacking dimension, his side using Stirling's long throw to give Diallo a chance but he fired over under pressure from Westwood.

In fairness, a draw was probably a fair result and will have brought a smile to Swindon and Hartlepool fans' faces after their sides too maximum points earlier in the day.

АДАША'S MONDAY UPDATE



Good afternoon

We've just landed in Spain after a short flight out from Luton this morning for what is supposed to be a warm weather training break for the last seven cup finals.

However, we've got here and it's raining - but that won't stop us.

We're only here for a couple of days and it'll be a good chance for our new players to get to know everyone and, of course, for us to get to know them. I think it does everyone good to have a change of environment, break up the routine, lighten the atmosphere, recharge the batteries and reinforce the team spirit amongst the whole group.

Upon arrival, Jonny Hayes' bag has been lost, which is not a problem as I have volunteered some of my clothes for him to wear - which should be fun.

This was only booked a few days ago and the players and staff have all contributed themselves to the costing. The offer of a trip which they had to contribute to was, of course, a bit of a test and, of course, any abstainers would not be here.

I am not naffed off that we never managed to win that game yesterday. It was a fantastic effort by all our players and with that commitment for the next seven matches I would be more than happy.

The breathtaking UEFA four-star stadium boasts an open concourse that provides an unrestricted view from every area and even padded seats for every supporter.

Initially the capacity will be 22,000 as the lower bowl is opened for the start of next season, with another 9,000 seats scheduled to be installed in the upper tier in due course.

Also on site are a luxury hotel with huge ballroom and a purpose-built arena for basketball and indoor music events – it's a complex in which the whole city can take pride!
